Educate an Out-of-School Child

Why This Project Matters
Millions of children worldwide—and many in India—are still out of school. Lack of access to education traps families in cycles of poverty, increases child labour risk, and denies children choices in life. Supporting out-of-school children to re-enter education is one of the highest-impact interventions NGOs can run.
Project overview — what MEWAT Foundation will do
This project aims to identify out-of-school children across Mewat, enroll them into age-appropriate learning paths, and provide the sustained support they need to complete basic schooling. Key activities:
- Community outreach & household surveys to identify out-of-school children.
- Learning kits (books, stationery, uniforms) and safe transport where necessary.
- Regular health & nutrition checks and counselling for children and families to remove barriers to attendance.
- Teacher stipends and training for local facilitators to run bridge courses.
Who benefits & long-term impact
Direct beneficiaries: out-of-school children (ages 6–14), their siblings, and caregivers in Mewat villages where school access is poor.
Long-term impact: increased enrolment and retention, improved literacy and numeracy, reduced child labour, and stronger community awareness of the value of education.
